You might be wondering why I would paint what can appear to be a rather simple and unexciting subject, but actually, rose hips have a wonderful spiritual meaning.

The meanings and symbols of rose hips are very rich. It often represents beautiful love, romance and tenderness. That bright colour is like the passion and excitement in love; the small and exquisite shape is just like the sweetness and delicacy in love.

In ancient times, rose hips were regarded as a symbol of happiness and beauty. People often give rose hips as gifts to their beloved ones to express their full love and deep blessings.

At the same time, rose hips also symbolise tenacity and unyielding. Rose plants themselves have strong vitality. Even in harsh environments, they can grow, bloom and bear fruit strongly. The existence of rose hips is like constantly reminding us that when facing difficulties and challenges, we must maintain a tenacious spirit and bravely pursue our dreams.

Additionally, the rose hip is essentially the fruit of the rose, which means that it goes through a process of growth and maturity to reach the point where it can be harvested.

The rose hip, therefore, represents the journey of life, the process of growth, and the fruits of one’s labor.

It is a symbol of transformation, resilience, and strength, highlighting the fact that even the most challenging experiences can yield sweet rewards.

Furthermore, the rose hip flower is also associated with healing and restoration. In traditional medicine, rose hip has been used for centuries to treat various ailments, including colds, flu, and digestive issues. The flower’s spiritual meaning, therefore, emphasises the importance of taking care of oneself and nurturing one’s body and soul.

Finally, the vase that displays the rose hips has a chequered pattern and a floral design at the base. It represents a specific meaning, that although we may have a chequered past with moments of growth and flourishing (as symbolised by the floral pattern), with perseverance and patience, we will eventually produce the fruit of our labours.
