There's a happiness and joy in painting flowers that I had not experienced quite like I did when I painted this particular piece.

I smiled the whole time and the process felt effortless, unlike many paintings where I can feel like I'm wrestling with the composition and the subject.

The yellow jug and the loose brushstrokes remind me of some of Van Gogh's paintings.

I love how the pink and yellow colours balance throughout the flowers, the vase, and the table top, giving a lovely flowing feeling.
