The protea flower is one of the most popular flowers that are incredibly big, beautiful, and long-lasting.

The protea was named after the Greek god Proteus because it is known for its ability to adapt to changing conditions and climates.

Proteus was an “old man of the sea” who had the power to change his shape and form at will—an apt metaphor for this resilient bloom that can withstand even the harshest conditions. 

As such, this imagery has come to represent resilience and strength over time and among many ancient cultures.
